Description
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast New
Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico,
South Central Mountains. In north central New Mexico, East Slopes
Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Southern Sangre de Cristo
Mountains. In northeast New Mexico, Northeast Highlands.
* WHEN...From Thursday morning through Thursday evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are
possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A disturbance will cross on Thursday with rich monsoon
moisture in place. High resolution models depict multiple
rounds of thunderstorms on the Ruidoso area and Hermit's Peak
Calf Canyon Burn Scars, where the risk of flash flooding will
be greatest.
