Colorado Avenue Striping: Crosswalks, Center Lane, Parallel Parking

Public Works will begin striping Main Street from Davis to Alder beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, October 29, continuing through Thursday, October 30, weather permitting. Work and street closures will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. reopening all blocks daily. 

• On Saturday, crews began cleaning and preparing the surface to make sure the paint sticks well in colder temperatures. Work will start on the east end near Alder and move west.
• Once the paint dries, blocks will reopen while the next section closes.
• Two blocks will be closed at a time to paint the center lane and crosswalks, while cross streets stay open. The order is as follows: 
  • Spruce to Alder
  • Fir to Spruce
  • Aspen to Fir
  • Davis to Aspen (Single-lane traffic)
• As the Diagonal Parking Pilot comes to a close, crews will also repaint the parallel parking on the north side and paint crosswalks, requiring temporary one-way traffic between Aspen and Davis.

Traffic will be redirected as needed. Work is expected to finish by Thursday evening, depending on drying time.
